Making a Difference
Berghoff Catering & Restaurant Group recognizes the importance of giving back to the community. We are actively involved with Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization and Hephzibah Children’s Association. In addition, we have been long-time supporters of Horizons for Youth. The following is a brief description of each organization and link to their websites for further information.
Breast Cancer Network of StrenghtFormerly known as Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization
Breast Cancer Network of Strenght™ is a Chicago-based national nonprofit organization with the mission to ensure, through information, empowerment and peer support, that no one faces breast cancer alone. Network of Strength does not raise money for research. The organization is here today for those who can’t wait for tomorrow’s cure.
Hephzibah Children’s Association
Hephzibah Children’s Association, located in Oak Park, Illinois, enhances the lives of children and families through a continuum of innovative programs. As it has done since its inception (founding) in the 1890’s through today, Hephzibah’s mission is “…to provide safety can care to society’s most vulnerable children”.
Hephzibah accomplishes its mission through comprehensive programs such as Day Care, Family Based Services, Group Homes, the Hephzibah Academy and Ryno Kid Care. The association has been integral in working with the community to ensure that the children in their care grow healthy, discover self-esteem and pursue their dreams of life.
Horizons for Youth
Horizons for Youth is committed to helping children recognize and achieve their full potential. The organization partners with dedicated families to provide need-based scholarships, mentoring and enrichment programs for Chicago elementary school students.
The cornerstone of Horizons is the Big Sibling mentoring program which pairs each child with an adult mentor who serves as a positive role model. However, the scholarships program is a significant part of Horizons’ work as it provides children from kindergarten through eighth grade with an annual renewable commitment to fund 90% of their educational costs at seven private elementary schools in the Chicago area.
